Resilient/City honored to lead United Nations training on DRR and Business Continuity Plans – March 2019
The United Nations Global Education and Training Institute (GETI) and UNISDR are partnering with Resiliént/City to deliver a key training on Disaster Risk Reduction and Business Continuity Plans at the United Nation’s regional center in Panama City, Panama. The private sector plays a key role in enhancing the resilience profile of the cities they are based in, the people they employ and the environment they affect. However, for a long time, the private sector was a neglected sector of sustainable and resilience practice. With the adoption of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in 2015 and later the Sustainable Development Goals, much more emphasis is placed on positive social impacts that the private sector can have on helping the United Nations and both developed and developing state deliver resilience-linked SDGs, like SDG 9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure and SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities.
